Week 2 of our marathon weeks, was spent throughout Utah. We left Friday morning around 10 and headed for Provo. Christian's grandma Asay was turning 100, so they planned a big family reunion/birthday party. After arriving in Provo and getting some dinner at Red Robbin, we met up with Michael and Emily and their kids at the pool so the kid could get some energy out.
These three boys (Carson, Stetson and Travis) had a blast trying to do tricks into the pool and wanted me to take their pictures so they could see them. They had a hard time getting it all synchronized, but kept trying and trying.

Saturday morning was the beginning of the reunion. It started at 10 with donuts and juice/milk and getting to talk to everyone. They had shirts made for everyone and name tag lanyards so we could know everyone's names. It was fun to meet lots of Christian's family that I have never met. While the adults mingled, the kids played (when it wasn't raining).

For lunch, we had Jdawgs for lunch. They were some pretty tasty hot dogs and polish dogs. When lunch was finished, Eric and Vicki and their kids had several things for the kids to do. I think the giant parachute was the biggest hit for the kids!

| The played sharks and minnows and Travis was being pulled under by a shark |

They had a bubble blowing station set up for the kids too where they could try to blow giant bubbles or lots of little bubbles.

One of Christian's cousins, Jeff, took a group of us on a hike up Rock Canyon. It started to rain part up, so we only hiked up to a little cave and then headed back down. If hadn't been raining, it would have been fun to spend a little more time there.

We tried to wait out the rain under a bunch of trees but just decided after a bit to head back down because it didn't seem like it was going to clear up any time soon.

After our hike, we stopped by Swig to grab some dirt diet cokes to drink. They were pretty tasty!

At five, we moved our party into the gym at the church. We had Café Rio catered for dinner. When dinner was over, we watched a slide show with pictures of Mildred, Clark (the oldest) talked for a bit, the great grandkids sang a couple of songs, Mildred bore her testimony and then we sand her happy birthday and had cake for dessert.

 |
| I made this family tree to display at the reunion. It turned out pretty neat and it was fun to see who belongs to who! |
I am so thankful that we were able to be together with family to celebrate Mildred. She is a great example of faith and love. I'm so grateful for my knowledge that families are forever!
That night after the party was all done, we made a quick appearance at the wedding reception for Tyler Tayler (who had gotten married in Provo earlier in the day) so that we could see their family (one of our favorites from when we lived in Nebraska). The reaction on their faces when we showed up was priceless. We miss the Taylor's (they were our 2nd family and Rulon was Carson's favorite person) and were excited to be able to see them and Rulon who had just returned home from his mission.
We got back to the hotel in time for the kids to swim with Michael and Emily's kids. After swimming, the guys (Christian, Michael, Matthew and Daniel) went and got drinks and hung out talked for a while.
Such a great celebration. Love that family tree, it looks like it should be a blanket!
