FHE fishing

The weather was beautiful yesterday and we took advantage of it and went fishing down at the pond. This was the first time we took the time to actually sit and fish and wait. Carson caught a crawdad first thing. We were just about to give up and head in to get ready for bed when Landon caught a good sized fish. We tried a little bit longer and then Travis caught one. Carson could have stayed out all night trying to catch one but I made him come in and get ready for bed. I think next time, we will have to start when the sun is almost set because that's when they seemed to start biting.

My little buddy. We had come down to the pond earlier in the day and let Landon throw rocks and sticks until it was time for naps(and he fell and got all muddy).

This picture cracks me up. The fish started to wiggle and it freaked him out a bit.

 



Travis reeling in his catch. Christian had taken Landon up to the house so I was really nervous I was going to have to dig the hook out of the fish. Luckily, he wiggled himself off and we were able to release him back into the water.

Travis' catch. Some day he'll look at this picture and wonder what the heck he was wearing. This was his 3rd outfit for the day and he REALLY wanted to change before we went down (but I wasn't about to let him dirty another pair of clothes) because people might see him and he looked funny. He's a crazy kid, but I love him like crazy!
