Easter Adventures

We had a wonderful Easter vacation. This year, the kids got out of school early on Thursday and didn't have to go back to school until Tuesday. We decided it would be fun to take a mini vacation and head to Utah for the weekend. We left Friday morning and picked Christian up in Greybull around 10:30 and then made our way to Provo where we went to visit Christian's grandma Asay. The trip to see her seemed to take FOREVER. We stopped 5 times on the way, mostly so a certain little boy could use the bathroom! We finally got to Grandma Asay's around 7 and visited for about and hour. After visiting with her, we were going to have Chik-fil-a but couldn't find it so we had ourselves some delicious 5 guys burgers. After eating dinner, we continued our trip to Logan where we would spend the weekend with my sister. We ended up getting there around 11 and pretty much went straight to bed.

Saturday morning, the boys were super excited to get up and see Auntie Butts. We made breakfast, the boys played outside in a box fort Jabin had made a week or so before, and then got ready and headed to First Dam to show Christian around and feed the ducks. While we were there, Travis crashed and mashed his face ending in a fat lip and gushing bloody nose! After that, we decided to just take a little walk so we didn't get any more injuries.
Hanging out in Butt's crawl space. They boys thought this was a pretty cool place to play while we were there.

Me and my sister.

After walking around and feeding the ducks all our bread, we went and grabbed lunch at Rumbi, a place we hadn't eaten at before. We really enjoyed the rice bowls there. When we were done with lunch, we headed back to my sisters and the boys stayed home and napped while we got to go shopping! Yay for some sister time! Shortly after we got back from shopping, Jabin got home from flying. Carson made plans that morning that he was going to hide from Jabin up above their coat closet when he got home. It took some work to get him up there, but he did it. Travis couldn't keep his mouth closed and ruined it before Jabin could even realize Carson was missing!

We decided to go out for Firehouse pizza for dinner. After dinner, we grabbed Johnny O spudnuts to have for breakfast in the morning and then went and had Aggie Ice cream. It was delicious. Landon and I got the much talked about Aggie Blue mint ice cream and loved it!
Loving our Aggie Blue ice cream.
After ice cream, we went back to Megan's house, watched a movie and stayed up way too late chatting.

Sunday morning, the boys woke up excited about Easter! They were all able to find their baskets that they Easter Bunny had hidden for them. They were hidden in some tough spots this year: Travis' on the roof of the coat closet, Carson's in the crawl space and Landon's behind a coat rack.

We enjoyed our spudnuts for breakfast and then enjoyed general conference on tv. It was so great to hear from our prophet and other leaders. In between sessions, we had a ham dinner, which was delicious, and then the boys went down for some much needed naps. While they were napping, Megan had planned an Easter egg hunt for them so we hid all the eggs she had filled. When conference was over for the day and the boys were done napping, they got to find all the eggs Auntie Butts had hidden for them.
Megan giving the boys some instructions before they went out to find the eggs. There was a large egg hidden for each of them that they had to find along with lots of regular sized ones.
Finding eggs in the back yard.

After finding all the eggs in the back yard, we moved the front of the house to look for more.

Checking out all their cool things. They got lots of candy, bouncy balls, race cars and splat balls! What a fun aunt they have!

The blossoms on the trees were so pretty. They were lots of tulips and daffodils in full bloom too!
Happy Easter!

Taking a closer look at the goods!

Uncle Jabin was showing the boys to how fly on a flight simulator. They thought his "man room" was really sweet!
That evening, we built a fire in their fire pit to roast hot dogs over for dinner. While we were waiting for the fire to die down a bit, we munched on some Doritos for an appetizer.

After we got too cold and it got dark, we came in and hung out for the rest of the night. The boys and Jabin finished a movie they had started until it was time for bed. Once again, we stayed up too late hanging out and talking.

Getting a lesson in how to play a new game on Jabin's ipad.
We headed home around 8 Monday morning and made it home with only making 1 stop compared to 5 on the way there. We had such an enjoyable time hanging out with Butts and Jabin and wish they lived closer so we could chill more often.
