Elementary Fun day!

Today was fun day at the Elementary school. This year, the weather was perfect for all the activities! We showed up around 9 to watch Carson and the rest of the second grade classes participate in some relay races. Their first relay was pushing a kick ball with their heads to the next person in line.
Carson's turn!
Carson cheering on his classmate.
Their second relay was to carry a water balloon under their chin and give it to the next person in line:
He made it without popping his balloon.
Their third relay looked really fun. They had to pass a series of cups with holes in them over their head to the person behind them. Lucky for them, it was hot making the cool water a welcomed thing!
Carson's class. The second graders were supposed to wear red this year. They got to tie dye white shirts in their class which was super fun!
After their relay races, they had an hour of swimming so while they were swimming the little boys and I went and ran a few errands. We got back from running our errands before the next grade had shown up to do the obstacle course, so a bunch of the kids that aren't in school yet were given the chance to try it out. They thought they were pretty cool!
Landon doing the balance beam part. He was so funny to watch. He would side step along and scream like a girl when he would fall off!
Travis and his friend Sam racing each other.

After swimming, they came back and did the tug of war. This event always gets the kids in a competitive spirit. Carson was pumped that his class only lost once!
The whole second grade: boys vs girls...and the girls won...both times!
The boys would just always end up in a pile!
Just Carson's class tugging.

Landon and Travis were really good about hanging out and watching their big brother.
Victory!
After the tug of war, they did the obstacle course. They had some really neat obstacles put up this year. Carson said he ran through it six times!

After Carson had run through the obstacle course once, the boys and I headed home. Grandma Foulger came over shortly after we got home and stayed to watch Travis and Landon so I could walk with Carson's class down to the Hyart Theatre for their final fun day activity: watching Toy Story 3. We got bottled water and skittles to enjoy with our show. It was such a good day and like I said to a friend, I'm so glad that we get to live in a community that does such great things for our kids, and allows/encourages families to be a part of it all!
