This year for Easter, our kids had Thursday through Monday off. We had a staycation and did lots of fun things around here. Thursday, we decorated eggs with grandpa and grandma Foulger. Friday, Grandma Foulger came over and hung out with us for the afternoon. That night, we decided, on a whim, to head out to the hills and look for geodes. It was a beautiful evening and we really enjoyed being outside enjoying it! We were able to find a few geodes, but none of them were very spectacular. The boys thought all the "caves" were really cool and called them all man caves. The one below was the best one!

Saturday, we got ready and headed to Grandma Asay's house for the day. We helped clean up her yeard, had lunch and then the kids did an Easter egg hunt. They had lots of fun finding the eggs and seeing what was in them. After lunch, we worked in the yard some more and when we were done, I took Landon home for a nap while the other boys stayed with Christian and helped out around the farm. When Landon woke up, we headed back out and had dinner and visited while the kids played. Carson, Travis, and their cousin Stetson looked for hours to find any and all bugs they could. They each had quite the collection in their jars that grandma had given them.

Travis and Kandace searching for eggs
| Poor Kandace was "lucky" enough to find the egg that Christian took the candy out of and placed a GIANT nasty cricket in(you can see if on the ground by her left foot)! When Jan said he had done it, I thought it was just a little black cricket...not one of these kinds! She was very upset and Christian end up giving her a dollar to replace the nasty bug. She kept saying he was the lamest uncle the rest of the day! |
| All but little Miss Paige who was sleeping. |
| Uncle Jared gave the kids a little ride in the loader bucket. Most of them thought it was great. Landon was not such a fan. I actually think he is scared of heights! |
| Those who were brave enough stayed in the bucket to get an even higher ride! |
Easter Sunday, Carson and Travis were up around 8:30 and wanting to find their baskets. We waited a few minutes and then woke Landon up too so they could find their baskets that the Easter Bunny had hidden and still have time to get to church on time.
| Carson found his basket by the garage door. |
| Landon showing off his new cow he got in his basket that was hidden in the entertainment center. |
Travis found his basket on the basement stairs. They were bot pretty excited to have new fishing poles!

| All three boys got new goggles to use this summer. |
| Happy kids! |
When the boys were all ready, we tried to do a little photo shoot outside of the boys and their new ties. I don't why it's such a task to take pictures...but it is...every time! Here is the proof:
| Making crazy faces without being asked to! |
| Landon hamming it up! |
| Super cheesy! |
| Finally, a semi normal one! Love these cute guys!! |
| I. LOVE. THIS. FACE! |
| Landon made a bunny mask in nursery and was modeling it for us all on our way home from church. |
Monday, I had a meeting in the morning and then Carson wanted to go visit Grandma Foulger since "it had been forever since he's been to her house." We had lunch with her and grandpa, looked at their house, and then played tennis for over two hours. After we had dinner, we went down to the pond and let the boys practice casting with their new poles. Between casting and throwing rocks, family home evening was fun for everyone!
On a side note: Last Wednesday, Travis had his kindergarten screening and it looks like he is all ready to go! After his screening, we decided it would be fun to go to lunch with Carson. I try to go to lunch with him once every year and this year I thought it would be nice for Travis to get to experience it and see how things are going to go next year! Travis keeps asking Carson when he can come and have lunch with him again, so he must have enjoyed it!

I love all your pics. It was a fun weekend and so good to see you guys and let the kids play! You did a good job capturing the moment of kandace finding the lucky egg;)
ReplyDeleteChristian really is the lamest. I would have cried too if I had gotten that egg. I love all of your pictures. The boys look mighty handsome in their new ties!
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so cute! I am jealous of your awesome mom skills!! I agree with Kandace and that putting a cricket in an egg constitutes for LAME! I seriously need to remember your whisk trick for dying eggs!
