White Elephant

For family home evening last night, we had a White Elephant gift party at my mom's house with our family friends, the Whitlocks. We had lots of yummy food, first, followed by the White Elephant gifts. We used to do White elephant with my Aunt Karen and all of her family every Christmas Eve when we were younger and always had a blast. We hadn't done it for quite a few years, so we thought this would be a great year to do it since Megan and Jabin were around. We had lots of fun and even more laughs!!

 For those that don't know what White Elephant is, each person brings a wrapped gift that goes in a pile. Our family always does funny gifts, some people are more conservative in the gifts they bring. Everyone draws a number and then we go in numerical order and pick out a present. The fun thing is, you can steal other people's gifts! Once everyone has a gift, you open the gifts in numerical order again and enjoy what everyone got! We had some really funny/good ones this year.

Landon was the first to pick a present. He wasn't so sure about the whole game. He mostly say on Jabin's lap scowling because he couldn't figure out why everyone was stealing present from one another and laughing about it.

There was lots of stealing. Travis always seemed to have the presents other people wanted. Luckily, I explained to him before the party what was going to happen and not to get sad if you don't the one you want.

This may have been to most sought after package! Christian was on his way to steal it from Carson.

Landon got a pin the tail on the donkey game that was older than most of us at the party!

Travis ended up with the package everyone wanted! He was so proud of his UW foam finger!

Of course it didn't take long for it to be used as a nose picker!

Carson's gift was the funniest of the night. He ended up getting a pair of granny panties (that we actually took to the party...I thought he saw me wrap everything...apparently not)! His face just redder and redder as we laughed at his prize! It was priceless to see his face!

He hung his head in embarrassment as he laughed!!

The best gift of the night was a package of shittens! They are mitten-like wipes "for  babies, pets, and adults". It was hilarious!! (Good find, Megan)

I ended up with a sweet elf costume complete with hair, ears, hat, vest and shoes!
