School Christmas Concert 2014

Last night was the K-3 Christmas concert. I learned my lesson after the first year of almost not getting a seat and sent Christian down to get in line at 5 (doors opened at 5:30 and the concert started at 6)! Last year, they changed it so that everyone didn't have to sit through the 3rd grade play if they didn't want to. The K-2 singing got done around 6:45 so we waited around for the 3 grade play to start of 7:30. Landon went to play at Grandma Dorothy's house so he wouldn't have to sit and be still/quite for 3 hours and I know he had way more fun there than with us.
The songs and play were all great. Both boys had speaking parts and did really good on them!

Travis looking pretty handsome (and putting out the vibe)before his program!

The kindergarteners

This song required the kids to whistle during part of it and I wondered how many of them actually knew how to whistle!

It's blurry, but Travis and three of his friends got to say: Let's knock it down and eat it (talking about a gingerbread house)

Carson's play was really cute! He was chosen to be an elf and did great. He was really concerned that some of the other elves weren't going to have play tools to work with during the play so he rounded up about 6 more to take with him and share if others needed some. He's always thinking of others! He had all (I actually didn't know he had so many) parts memorized and said them really slow and clearly.
Posing with a screw driver before the program since his saw was already at the Hyart.
All dressed up and ready to perform. He was told that he had to have green, red or white pants to wear as part of his costume, and let me tell you, it is hard to find any of those colors in his size! Luckily, grandma Foulger was able to find some in Utah when she was there a couple weeks ago!

Ward Christmas party.

This last Wednesday, we had our ward Christmas party. It started with the program which was the Nativity. Carson was asked to be a shepherd and Travis was part of the Heavenly choir. They both did really good. Dinner followed and then Santa made a visit. There were lots of photo ops, so we took advantage! Christian was out of town for some meetings so we missed having him in our pictures.

Landon didn't have a part in the program but really wanted his picture taken next to the bull.

I was at a really bad spot to take pictures during the program.

Carson's 9th birthday!

Friday was Carson's 9th birthday, and we celebrated ALL DAY long! We started the morning off by having pancakes and Carson got to open two presents: a new outfit to wear and a flag football set (to be used later that day). He decided he wanted to take a bag of oreos and kool aid squeeze its for his birthday treat at school.
Opening his first gifts of the day.
New out fit. He had been asking for an under armor shirt and finally got one.
We had to open this one early so we could use it to play football at his party later in the day.
At 11:30, I picked him up and went and had lunch at Minchow's during his lunch time.
My pretty handsome lunch dates!
On Fridays, the kids get out of school at 1:30, so we had a friend party at the church gym right after school was out until 3. The boys arrived and immediately saw the flags for flag football on the back of their chairs and wanted to play.
Our concessions stand of food.
The sports ball cupcakes we made for Carson's party.
The table all ready for the boys with flag football belts.
While I was setting up, Landon had a blast hiding in the cupboards.

Carson and his friends: Manning M. Travis, Braxton F., Carson and Jacob B. We had one more (Parker A.) show up later after we had already taken the picture! These are a great group of boys!

Crazy faces!
They played for quite a while and then they decided it was half time and they needed some snacks. Carson requested nachoes and little smokies for his treats.
The boys playing a little football. I think they could have played for hours!
Half time, snack time

After some snackes, the boys played a game of pig and then opened presents and had cupcakes and ice cream.
Carson got a spy kit, some legos, a rocket launcher, and a paper airplane kit.
The boys singing the longest birthday song I've ever heard to Carson
Enjoying his cupcake.
After dessert, they continued to play, run, and be wild like little boys do! He had so much fun with his friends this year!

As soon as we were done cleaning up the gym, we headed home and to make a couple of soups (he requested chicken noodle soup and death by chocolate again this year) to have for dinner at our family party. We had a great turn out and got some really cool gifts!
Enjoying some dinner.
Some of the group.
Gift time! Travis was pretty excited about the basketball Carson got because we didn't have one.
A new tackle box full of legos from Jason and Cassie.
He loves charleston chews!
Grandpa and Grandma Asay got him a little air soft pistols. We went and shot them the next day and they are perfect for the boys!
Singing happy birthday!
Our group enjoying dessert!
Jason, me and Cassie posing for Christian who was complaining that I wasn't in enough pictures!
Grandma Asay read through a really cool encyclopedia book with the boys.
Carson received a package from great grandpa and grandma Foulger that had two word finds in it that had dollar bills stashed in the pages as a reward for getting pages done. Needless to say, he immediately got to work on the pages.

Happy Birthday, Carson!

Today is Carson's 9th birthday! And seriously, where has the time gone? Carson is one of the most kind kids I have ever met! He is a good example to his brothers and always strives to do what is right. He has a great laugh and is a super helper. I am so glad that I was chosen to be his mom and that he is part of our family! At 9 years old, Carson:

*loves chicken noodle soup

*wears a size 3 shoe and size 10/12 shirts and pants

*loves anything football

*got one of the highest grades in the 3rd grade on his district writing assessment (according to his teacher)

*knows how to water ski and wants to try snow skiing this winter

*is in charge of taking out the garbages, clearing the table after meals, making his bed/cleaning his room and occasionally emptying the dishwasher

*wants to be either a professional football player or Co-op guy like his dad when he grows up

*says his favorite football team is the Seattle Seahawks

*recently discovered he loves Hawaiian pizza

*got his own room for the first time since we moved back to Wyoming and LOVES it! He keeps telling me about all the cool things (a desk, half carpet/half wood floor so he can build legos easier) he wants in his room in the basement when we get it finished

We love you, Carson and are so proud of the young man that you are becoming!

Preg testing

Saturday, we spent the day at Grandpa Asay's house helping him preg test his cows. It was freezing most of the day, but the two bigger boys were great helpers. Carson helped grandpa Asay out by brining the cows up in the alley, and Travis informed me that his job was the "poop stick" aka putting/taking out the metal bar that keeps the cows from being able to back out of the alley. Don't ask me! Landon and I mostly hung out at grandma's with the other little kids and ladies. We went home for some much needed naps and I put up the rest of our Christmas decorations and cleaned up from the craziness of the last couple of days. After naps, Landon and I went back out to Grandma's and tried to wait to see Aunt Diane, but had to go home before she got there so Christian could study for his lesson he had to give the next day.

Christian got to run the shoot. By the end of the day, he had icicles hanging off of his mustache because it was so cold!

A little craftiness

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, my mom, sister and I did a little crafting. It is kind of a fun tradition that has devolped over the last couple of years. When Megan comes home for Thanksgiving, we always seem to end up making something crafty for Christmas. We've made some cute snowmen and snow letters the last two years and this year we made some joy marquee letters. It was so fun to get my craft on with two of my favorites!

When I showed up, my sister was in the process of getting ready and informed me that we were probably going to match that day. She ended up getting dressed in a different shirt, but decided she needed to get dressed in her matching clothes so we could take a pic! We both must have the same taste in clothes!
