Weekend visit from Butts!

My sister flew in Saturday for a quick weekend visit. We hung out at grandma Foulger's house all Saturday. That evening Great grandpa and grandma Foulger came over and had dinner with us all. Megan had to fly home Sunday but we were happy to get to see her for the day!

The plaid clan!
Love my sister!
Travis getting a little snuggle time!
It was a beautiful day and the guys enjoyed sitting outside...in the sunshine!
Carson and Great grandma did some shoestring sewing while they were waiting for dinner.
Family dinner.
My grandma made a bowl of orange jello popcorn to share and it was delicious. I hadn't had this forever!

We ended the day by watching the Great Outdoors that night.

Us, lately!

We haven't been doing anything too exciting lately, but here is some of what our phone cameras have caught!
I finally finished putting together my chevron sign. Yes, I am aware that my stripes are not the same distance apart...we had a heck of a time trying to figure it all out. I've decided that painting chevron stripes is WAY over rated!!
Landon got a new pair of muck boots and was super excited about them. His new favorite thing to do is give a thumbs up when we really likes something!
Landon and I started tearing down the white trim that was in our master bedroom in preparation for some new paint and bedroom furniture.  We are still in the process of trying to get out a few last nails...man those things are in there good. We are hoping to paint in the next few days once they are all out!

Landon has been working on using the potty this last week. It's a very slow process but we are making progress...at least he doesn't plank and go all stiff when I try to put him on the pot! We got to go get ice cream this week to celebrate pooing on the toilet! He gave our lunch date a thumbs up! It was fun to sit with him and talk about things that were going on around us. He is such a funny kid and melts my heart!

Christian sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers the other just because! They certainly brightened my day!
Carson had his last flag football game last Saturday. The got to play against Cowley on their high school football field...which was really cool to him! They won their game (after starting 45 minutes late!). He had lots of fun and progressively got more aggressive as the games went.

After his game with his football medal! Way to go, buddy!
We have been trying to enjoy the beautiful fall weather by hitting the park and playing outside with friends too. We have been spoiled with mid 70's for the last couple of weeks, and I hope it holds out until Halloween!

Flag football

Carson's flag football season is starting to come to a close. It's a really short season since there are only 3 teams. He has been looking forward to playing football forever and was so excited when it finally started! I think he has really learned a lot. His coach rotates them through all the positions, giving them all a chance to try things out.
Ready to play.

Taking a time out.

These two play their own football on the sidelines.

Playing against his friend Manning M.

Landon's party!

We celebrated Landon turning 3 on Friday with family. We had pulled pork sandwiches, salads, little smokies and chips for dinner. When we were in Billings a few weeks ago, Landon picked out a pirate theme while we were in Hobby Lobby shopping
Ian, Britt, Carson and Chloe, Travis and Landon sporting their pirate gear.
Ian, Kasi, Paige(hiding), Grandma Dorothy, Charlene and Chloe eating some dinner.
After dinner, Landon opened his presents. He got some really cool things: a pirate ship, cowboy hat, clothes, yard tools, ninja gear, corrals and cows, a bug box, guns with holsters and a tractor...everything a little boy would love!
Ready to open presents.
His new bug box to put crickets in.
His new corrals, cowboy shirt and cows.
Playing with his new pirate ship. Landon had a green John Deer hat that he has loved forever. We lost it a couple of months ago and grandma Foulger was able to find a new one to replace it! He was so happy to have his hat back!!
After present opening, we sang happy birthday and had cake and ice cream. When I would ask Landon what he wanted to eat at his party, all he would ever say was cake...white cake. So, we made sure to have white cake and it was delicious!

Crazy red teeth!
Great grandma Foulger and grandpa Foulger hanging out!
We are so happy that you are in our family, Landon and that we got to celebrate with you on your special day!

Happy Birthday, Landon!

Three Years old!

Today my baby turns 3! He is so full of personality and we just love him! At 3, Landon:
*Loves to catch bugs outside. He gets up in the morning and one of the first things he does is go look for crickets.
*Loves to do whatever his brothers are doing!
*Loves, loves, loves hot dogs and sauerkraut
*Still packs around his sunshine blanket every chance he gets and "huffs" it (he holds it up to his nose and smells it while pulling apart his diaper)
*Is still not potty trained...ugh!
*Loves to watch the movie "Bulls" aka 8 Seconds.
*He's a cowboy at heart!
*Takes at least a two hour nap every day
*Knocks on his door in the morning when he is ready to get up. When I open the door, he has the fan turned off and the room light turned on.
*Doesn't really like to wear sandals...unless we're heading out to the lake
*Would rather snack all morning than eat an actual breakfast
*He goes by the nicknames Lando, Landiego, and Landino
*He loves frozen go gurts and is kind of going through withdrawals since we haven't had any on hand!

We did a little photo shoot yesterday and here are some of my favorites. I have to say that I LOVE THIS FACE! Happy birthday Landon.

This one makes me smile!

He was trying to hold up three fingers to show me he was turning three...not flashing some gang signs!

Metamorphosis

Our butterflies finally completed their metamorphosis! Monday, Carson got home from school to find that the butterfly attached to the top of the jar had turned into a butterfly! It was like Christmas morning...we were all so excited! We decided that it would survive better outside rather in the jar that was full of moldy catepillar poo and leaves! Carson chose to release it onto one of our tomato plants. The next morning, Carson checked on it before he left for school and it was still there but was gone by the time he returned home that after noon. I have to say it was such a fun process to watch and see the different stages and colors!
Little butterfly waiting for his release. The other cocoon was no longer green anymore and was a deep black color.

Ready to go!

The colors were amazing!

Carson releasing the butterfly on the plant.

The next day (Tuesday), butterfly #2 emerged and Carson released him too! I'm thinking that the boys are going to want to find more  next year and do this again!
