Easter

This year, the boys had a nice break over Easter. Christian and I had been talking about going to Mount Rushmore over Easter, but when it came down to it, he didn't feel like he could leave with it being right in the middle of his busy time at work and having a bunch of new employees. As it turns out, I'm not even sure we would have been able to get there with a big winter storm that had hit that area. So, I decided to take the boys to Utah to spend the break with my sister, Megan. Her husband was going to be flying over Easter, so it was nice to get to spend time with her. We didn't been to see them in almost 2 years, so it was definitely time! The boys had a half day of school Wednesday, so we decided to leave Thursday morning. We got to Utah late afternoon and we just hung out that evening at home. Before we left, I asked each of the boys what was the one thing they wanted to do while we were in Utah. Of course, they all replied with places they wanted to eat at! Landon wanted to do the Hibachi grill, Carson wanted Chik-fil-A and Travis (and the other two) wanted to get drinks at Swig. Friday, we got up, had breakfast, got ready and then decided to go bowling (with a stop by Swig before we went).
We had so much fun and now Landon wants to go bowling all the time!
We went back and hung out while the littles napped and then we went to Kabuki, which is a Japanese steak house. They cook the food right in front of you and it's so yummy!
That evening, we had an epic 8 person battle on the switch.
Saturday, Jabin had to leave early for work. The rest of us got up, had breakfast, got ready and then drove to Ogden to go to a dinosaur park. We started in the museum. It had some cool rocks/crystals on display. We then made our way to see the fossils they have and the robotic dinosuars. It was fun to read about the different dinosuar bones they had.
After the museum part, we walked around outside where they have tons of life-size dinosaur replicas. It was so fun to see all the different kinds of dinosaurs and their real-life sizes!
After the Dinosuar park, we grabbed some Chik-fil-A for lunch before heading back to Logan. The kids played around and we grabbed some Firehouse pizza to eat at home.
Sunday was Easter. We got up and had some breakfast and the kids were able to find their Easter baskets.
We went to church and enjoyed a really beautiful sacrament meeting. Megan's ward has many talented peole who played/sang music. It was so nice! I am so thankful for my Savior! I know that he lives! After sacrament, we decided to drive up to the temple and walk around while Megan took her kids to their classes. I told the boys we wouldn't be able to go on the grounds, but we could walk around the fence. We got there to find that they were just getting ready to open it up for people to walk around the grounds. It was great to be able to walk around the temple grounds!
After church was over, we had leftovers for lunch and then did a little egg hunt for the kids.
We got things ready for our Easter dinner while the kids slept. That evening, we enjoyed ham (that Grandma Foulger sent), funeral potatoes, frog eye salad, rolls and Aggie Blue Mint ice cream for dessert. Monday, we got up early and headed back home. It was so fun to be able to spend some time with Megan and her family. We love visiting them and getting to go and do fun things. My boys can't wait to go back again!
