Christian and I got to spend last week in Cabo with my parents and siblings. We stayed the night in Billings Friday night and then flew from Billings to Denver and then straight to Cabo Saturday. We got there around 4 and explored the resort (even though we had been there a few years earlier for work meetings for Christian). We walked the beach and then that evening there was a welcome reception for the AFS group that was all there.

| We got to ride on the party bus from the air port to the resort. |
A little crazy photo session down by the beach on the first night.
On Sunday, we got up and ate at the amazing breakfast buffet and then spent the day lounging around the pool.
 |
| The view from our room. We were upgraded to a suite, so we had a view of the ocean and two rooms. |
Two of our favorite things we that we enjoyed every day by the pool were chips and guacamole and virgin strawberry daiquiris (in the blue cup).

Tuesday, we woke up to overcast skies and rain. We decided to brave it and walk into the little town. The walk to and from town ended up being around 5 miles, but it was fun to see the area and do shopping in the little shops.
The hibiscus flowers are always my favorite! These were a few we saw on our walk.
Walking into town.

| There are so many fun and different looking cacti around. |

|
| Christian really bad wanted to find himself a large brimmed straw "cowboy" hat, but wasn't able to find just the right one. |
We had lunch at the buffet when we got back to the resort. That have so many options in their buffet. This day, Christian got some octopus to eat.
 |
| Because the weather was kind of crummy, we just sat on our balcony and enjoyed the warm weather and yummy drinks. |
After our walk and shopping, we went back to the resort, napped and got ready for the night. We had decided to would go to the French restaurant that evening. It was an adult only and dress up restaurant. We met up around 7 with everyone else only to find that it was going to be an hour and forty minute wait to get in. We decided to wait it out and passed the time by playing some cards and taking pictures. The food was really good, but by 9:00, we just really wanted to eat and get out, but they were slow and we didn't end up getting done with dinner until shortly before 11.

| Aver serious game of Shang hi. |
 |
| Christian discovered after our meal that his napkin had a button hole to use with your shirt. He was sad he hadn't seen it earlier so he could have used it! |
Tuesday, we spent the day down at the beach. It was a really warm day, so we walked the beach a few times and took some dips in the pool to cool off.

Late afternoon, we headed to our rooms and got ready. We had booked a sunset sail to the arch rock that evening. We had to travel about 30 minutes (which made me sick) into the harbor in the other Cabo. We got on our sail boat and headed out. We cruised slowly to the arch rock formation where we were able to see a bunch of sea lions just hanging out on one rock...and they stunk!

| 3 huge pelicans as we were leaving the harbor. |

We put up our sail and made our way around the other side of the arch where there is a beach. We sat and watched 3 whales breach as the sun went down. It was an amazing sail and the weather was beautiful!

| They gave each couple a snack tray to enjoy on the sail. |

Wednesday we spent another day by the pool soaking up the sunshine.
That evening, there was a farewell dinner for the AFS group. There was a buffet full of delicious food.
Thursday, we had plans to go snorkeling (the excursion Christian wanted to do), but I woke up sick with weird stomach cramps (no upset stomach or anything), so I felt pretty crummy all day. We ended up just sticking by the pool and napping. I'm sad we didn't get to snorkel...next time!

 |
| One of the best places to eat was an Italian restaurant next to the beach. It had great pastas and pizzas. |
That night, we made reservations at a Japanese restaurant where they cook on a big grill in front of you. It was some of the best food we had and so much fun!

We each got to pick two types of meat to go with our fried rice and veggies. I had chicken and steak; Christian had shrimp (and a bunch of them) and steak. Each couple also got to share a plate full of sushi. Our favorite was what they called the Cabo roll which was steak and avocado rolled up with a spicy sauce on top.

After dinner, Megan and Jabin (My mom had been sick all day, so my dad went back to his room and Jason and Cassie went to their room)came to our room to play cards and chat. We stayed up late laughing and talking.
Friday, we didn't have to load the buses until 12:30, so we got up, had some breakfast, packed up our stuff and then headed down to the pool for an hour before getting ready for the day.

| Our final group picture. Kyle and Gretchen were here with their family, so we really didn't see them. |
 |
| Adios, Cabo! |

Our flights home went well and we were back to our house by midnight. Grandpa and Grandma Asay had brought the boys to our house to put them to bed so that we could get Carson up in the morning for a basketball game. It sounded like they had a good time with grandpa and grandma. We are sure thankful that they were willing to keep the kids for us and run them around to all their activities!
Carson had his first two basketball games while we were gone. Grandma kept us in the loop on how the games were going.
Carson missed school Thursday and Friday (the day we left) because he was sick. Grandma took good care of him. He's still battling a cough and runny nose, but he's on the mend. When I texted to see how he was feeling, this was the picture Grandma Asay sent back.
Travis colored this pic and said that before his braces this is what he looked like!
The boys were happy to see us when we woke them up Saturday morning. Carson had a game that morning, so that afternoon, we gave them their treats from Mexico. They weren't too impressed by the Mexican candy with all the chili in them!
