Lately

With the start of school, we have been super busy! Carson started football practice the first day of school and has been loving it! They had their first game Saturday against Cody. They weren't able to pull off a win, but they did pretty good against a much bigger school!
He got picked to be one of the captains.

Seeing how the coin flipped...

Christian got to go up to Yellowestone Lake two weeks in a row for a some fishing trips. The first week, he was asked to take our boat and be a guide/give boat rides of the lake. The next week, he actually got to just fish and hang out.

We've had several people over working on repairing our home after the hail storm that hit in July. We got a whole new roof put on, they fixed the vinyl around the windows and we are in the process of getting new gutters on right now. We just have to replace the window screens, some vinyl in the windows and replace a door and we will be pretty much fixed up!

We had planned to go out on the boat last Saturday after Carson's football game, but it was windy, so we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride to find fossils. The boys always have so much fun exploring. Travis found a little horny toad that he really wanted to bring home, but decided to just let it go back to it's home. We found lots of fossilized squid heads and decided that since we were finding so many that we should have a competition to see who could find the biggest one. Christian and Landon had the biggest ones.

We decided he had better head back when the sky was turning dark. We raced back to the truck in the rain, but got to see a double rainbow!
Travis got to open his gift from grandma and grandpa Asay and was beyond excited about a new, bigger fish tank with a filter! He can't wait until he can get to Wal-Mart and buy some fish. Right now, it is home to a minnow he caught in the pond.

I was finally able to get all my paperwork in to start subbing. I've been busy since I submitted it and got it approved. It's been fun to be in different positions in the school. I've been able to be a para, classroom teacher and even a lunch lady! I love getting to see my kids at school and see them interact with their peers!
Christian said I needed to take a first day of subbing pic and send it to him.
Have to love the hair nets when you're a lunch lady!

This guy has been working hard in first grade and it's exhausting! He asked me if I wanted to come watch tv with him on my bed and he fell asleep within minutes!

Due to the hail storm in July, the corn seed we bought and grandpa Asay planted, was really set back. We are just now being able to pick large quantities of it. The boys weren't able to sell it to the grocery store this year, but they are hoping to be able to fill a few local orders to make a little money to add to their mission funds. We lost most of our garden in the hail, so there has been no canning this fall. Our pumpkins, cucumbers and zucchini were able to bounce back some, so we have been able to enjoy them. I'm excited for our pumpkins, although there won't be very many of them and they won't be very big, but it's been fun to watch them grow (this is the first year we've planted pumpkins).
Travis bringing out a load of corn from the field the other night for me to box up.
Not only is Carson playing football, but so is Travis. His flag football started a couple of weeks ago. He's loved getting to go to practice every night, but is really ready for a game. We have to travel to Cody and Powell (and they come here) this year to play our games. We only had enough kids for one team and Cowley only does tackle, so we won't be able to play them.
