It's hard to believe that June is almost half way over! Baseball pretty much consumes our evenings. With two boys in two different leagues, it keep us pretty busy between games and practices. The boys start the first of their sports camps this week and will continue with different ones for the next few weeks. Here are few other random things we have been doing:
Carson got the opportunity to participate in a Pioneer Trek. They had to dress like pioneers and could only bring their personal items in a 5 galloon bucket (they could put their sleeping items in a black garbage bag). He had an awesome time. A group of boys in his company slept under the stars the first night because it was so hot, but the next day brought some pretty brutal winds, so they opted for the tent that night. They heard some pioneer stories along the way, had a square dance, and got to know people he ordinarily wouldn't (they mixed the entire stake into families this time instead of your family all being from your ward). He really enjoyed his trek family and company.

The same day that Carson got home from trek, we made a quick trip out to the lake for the first time this year. Carson and Travis were the only ones brave enough to get in the water. It was a pretty nice day and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Travis spent over a week catching/collecting crawdads in our pond. He caught 58 of them, and kept them in our garage in a tote to try and clean them out in hopes that we could cook them. After about a week of cleaning them, researching how to cook and eat them, we had a crawfish boil and the boys, along with Grandpa Asay (who caught some to add to Travis') chowed down on them. I couldn't bring myself to eat one, but they loved them!

We put together our Summer bucket list...finally.
The boys put up one of our tents in the back yard and "slept" in it. It sounded like Landon had a hard time winding down, but once he did, they all slept pretty good.
Travis gained a nice shiner while he and Carson were playing football in the backyard. He had undone the chin strap on his helmet and had forgotten to do it back up and when Carson tackled him, Travis' helmet went up and Carson's helmet hit his cheek bone leaving him with an instant bruise.
