The weekend

The kids were out of school Thursday and Friday last week, so we tried to fit in some fun things to keep us busy. But before that, on Wednesday, the elementary school had their breakfast with buddies. I got to go and enjoy a muffin and some apple juice and read with both Landon and Travis before school.

Thursday, we went over to the Aquatic center in Powell and swam for a while and then grabbed some McDonalds for lunch before we headed back home.

Saturday we had a full day. Christian and Carson attended a youth pheasant hunt put on by Pheasants Forever. They started the day with some trap shooting. They had instructors for each of the youth attending that helped them learn how to shoot trap.

After trap shooting, the instructors took two boys out at a time to hunt pheasants that they had placed for the kids. Each kid was allowed to shoot two birds. Carson got one, which was the first one he's ever been able to shoot (he's gone several times with his dad and never been able to get one). After the hunt, they fed them hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. They didn't stick around for the drawings, but had a really enjoyable day. Christian said it was really well organized and the instructors they had were really nice to the kids and were great at providing feed back to the kids to help them better themselves. They are looking forward to getting to do it again next year!

While those two were hunting, Landon, Travis and I were also in Cody for Travis's wrestling tournament. It was a pretty tough bracket for him, but he came away with a fifth place ribbon and their team came away with a 3rd place plaque. He was just happy the girl he was supposed to wrestle ended up forfeiting so he didn't have to wrestle her!
