Our last week...

We had a busy week last week! Here are just a few camera pics of what went on:

March 14th was Pi day, so we celebrated with some Banana Cream pie for dessert that night.

Friday was a busy day for us. Carson headed to the mountain with the scouts for a winter camp-out. It sounded  like he had a good time for the most part (they got to go sledding)...He said they crammed 11 people inside a 7 man tent, making it so there wasn't a lot of room to sleep. On top of there being a bunch of people in the tent, they also had it set up on a slope so during the night, they all ended up kind of shifting downward. He was towards the opening and he said he ended up sleeping with his legs bent up towards his chest because there was no room. He woke up with sore knees. They ended up coming down off the mountain earlier than planned because it started to blizzard.

After we got Carson dropped off with the scouts, we loaded up the car and headed towards Thermopolis for a wrestling tournament the next day. We picked Christian up in Greybull on our way through. We stopped in Worland and grabbed some Subway for dinner and then made the rest of the trip to Thermop.
These two were out within minutes of beginning our drive!
Once we got to Thermop, we decided to explore the hot Springs instead of going right to our hotel. We walked around the boardwalk and then ventured out onto the swinging bridge that crosses the river. Landon was not going to join us (he hates heights) until we found a cool frozen waterfall and we convinced him to come out.
Walking the board walk. The boys were not impressed by the rotten egg smell!

After exploring, we checked into our hotel for the night. We let the boys swim for a bit before heading to bed.
Passing the time while the boys swam.
Check-ins for the tournament were from 6-7 Saturday morning, so we had to be up bright and early! We got to the gym around 6:30, got Travis checked in and were waiting for things to start when Travis said he needed to use the bathroom. He came back after a bit and told me that he had thrown up twice while he was in there! I  said it was probably nerves and told him to have a drink and relax for a minute. Christian came over a little bit later and told him to head down to the mats to warm up. As Travis was heading down the bleacher stairs, he threw up in a garbage can and then came back. We sent him to go clean up and again, on his way down the bleachers, he puked in a garbage can, and then again in a garbage can in front of the bleachers, and then again in one just outside the door! We met up with him out in the lobby and decided we probably shouldn't have him wrestle that day...not how we were planning for the day to go! I think it was nerves that got to him (he did it before his first wrestling tournament too). So, back home we went! He forfeited his matches that day, which was sad because I think he could have done really well in the tournament. Funny thing is, after checking the bracket later that day to see who had ended up winning, he took 6th place (which would have been a ribbon) with out even being there!! He was pretty upset about not getting to wrestle when we got home, so Christian did a good job of talking to him about how it's ok to be nervous before you wrestle, and that if you have to puke in the future...do it ALL in the bathroom (so people don't think you have the flu). He showed him some professional athletes that do the same thing before they perform and talked to him about ways he might be able to overcome it. Let's hope this is the last time this happens!

Since we had planned to be gone most of St. Patrick's Day at a wrestling tournament, we planned to our annual St. Paddy's Day meal on Sunday. We invited Grandpa Foulger over for corned beef and cabbage, since Grandma was out of town. It turned out so good this year!! Carson helped me put it all together. It was a fun little meal and fun to have grandpa there with us!
