Catching up!

It's time for a little catching up for the month of October!

Homecoming week, the middle school got to dress up for a couple of the days. One of the days was dynamic duo day. Carson dressed up as a robber and his friend, Weston, dressed up as a cop.

Travis finished up his flag football season. He had so much fun and loved getting to play all the positions. He scored 3 touch downs and a point after between his last two games.

The kindergarteners got to go on a field trip to the fish hatchery and I was able to go with Landon's class. They stopped at the Visitor Center first where they watched an informational movie about the Medicine Wheel (which totally lost their attention after about the first 5 minutes...), got to see/touch animal pelts and then walk around the pond area. Then we drove the rest of the way out to the fish hatchery. The highlight there was being able to feed the fish. They went crazy and the kids would get splashed!

On our way to the fish hatchery.

feeding time!
Grandpa Foulger got a new boat and took us all out for a ride to try it out after Carson and Travis were done with football games. It was a little bit chilly but a good ride, none the less. Christian was in Dry Head helping his dad wean calves...we missed him.
Our crew!

Travis loved getting to hold baby Sloane. She even fell asleep on him!

My cowboy!

Christian thought it was funny to have his mom take his picture in the "family picture spot". We always take our family picture here year after year because of the changing trees that are there, but this year, he was the only one in our family that was able to go.

I had a fun little sign up for Landon's birthday that said Party time. I came up the next morning to find that a certain middle school boy had changed the letters around the spell armpit. I should have known this would happen with a house full of boys!

Carson finished up his football season. They ended the season with a big win (44-8) over Cowley, with a  record of 3-3. He loved football and learned a lot this year. He's enjoyed his week off from sports and starts wrestling today!

Love this kid!

Our gardening has come to an end. It was a pretty bad year for our garden. We got hardly any ripened tomates resulting in me only being able to can 4 quarts of tomatoes. It's a good thing that we have had good years in the past that I've been able to can lots of salsa so we can still have some! We had lots of hot peppers, but not a ton of green peppers. Travis helped me pick what was good in the garden one afternoon. We had been having some cold nights and it was supposed to freeze hard, so we picked all we could. I'm hoping that some of the green tomatoes I picked will ripen in the house so that we can continue to can a few more quarts of tomatoes to use through out the winter in soups and sauces.
Travis picked a 3gallon bucket full of peppers for me.
I have always tried to go to lunch with at least one of the boys once a month. So far I've been able to have lunch with the younger two a couple of times. Not that Carson is in school, and it's not cool for mom to come and have lunch with you, we decided that we would get lunch and have it together when it's his turn. This time, I picked up champs chicken, picked him up and then came home for lunch. It's always so fun to get to spend a few minutes with them one on one and hear how their day has been going!

My mom, sister and I enjoyed a girl's weekend over this last weekend. My mom was already in Utah, so I flew down Thursday and they picked my up and the partying began. We shopped until about 8 that night and then enjoyed Olive Garden for dinner and then headed to a hotel for the night. We got up the next morning and shopped the entire day around the Salt Lake area. We had lots of laughs and good times!
Heading out to shop until we dropped!

Baby Sloane was a champ shopper and was happy the entire day!
Enjoying some Fiiz drinks! Yum!
My little shopping buddy!
Saturday, we ran a couple of errands in the morning and then spend the rest of the day at Megan's crafting and hanging out. My mom made chili and cinnamon rolls that we had for dinner!
Getting our craft on!

Our finished product. The little hanging guys are interchangeable for each season. We made a fall set as well!
It was so fun to have a weekend away shopping, eating good food and being with my mom and sister!

For Landon's birthday, Grandpa and Grandma Foulger game him some money and told him that he got to go on a one on one date with grandma to spend it and then go out to eat (their choice of where to eat). The kids didn't have school this Monday and grandma and I had talked about maybe doing it then, but grandma figured he would want to spend the day with his mom who had been gone for a few days. Well, he asked me in the morning when he was going to get to do his date and I told we had talked about today, but grandma thought he would want to hang out with his mom. He quickly replied: "no!" (boy we were wrong about him wanting to hang out). Landon made a quick call to grandma to see if they could go today and, lucky for him, she said yes! They went to Wal-Mart first and he picked out some great things. He bought a lego flash light, toy gun, and remote control car (that his brothers all love too). After shopping, they ran an errand and had lunch at Wendy's. Landon loved getting to spend his day by himself with his grandma! The other boys are now thinking that this sounds like a pretty good birthday idea for them too!
Date day with grandma!
His goodies he bought with this money!

  1. I love the crafts and especially the one on one dates with your boys! I think I need to try that with my kiddo's!
