Day at Sea

Our last full day on the cruise ship was spent all day at sea. We woke up to grey skies and chilly weather, which kind of ruined our plans for playing in the water all day. We got up and had breakfast and then played some corn hole and met up with family for card playing and visiting.

At 4, we all gathered together in a conference room on the ship for a couple of hours to be together. My cousin's wife, Karissa, put together a fun little booklet for everyone to fill out that had games and other things to do with the Savage family (like can you name the siblings in order, how many total people are there in the Bert and Jennie Savage family...). My favorite part was sitting around listening to my relatives talk about my grandma and grandpa. I never got to meet either of them, so I love hearing stories about them. I'm so grateful for eternal families and look forward to the day that I can meet both of them and visit with them myself!

We did the traditional individual family pictures of everyone who was there. We had a good time getting to visit with everyone and missed those who weren't there. My kids met and made new friends that they look forward to seeing in a couple of years at the next reunion.

 After we met as a group, we got ready for dinner. For a surprise appetizer, the boys got to try escargot. Travis and Carson each ate one and decided they didn't like them much, Landon, on the other hand, loved them and ate like 10 snails along with his shrimp cocktail (that he had every night as an appetizer), main dish and dessert. That kid can eat. Travis decided to try a seafood pasta and got to try mussels (that he didn't really care for), calamari, scallops (and shrimp and salmon... but he's had those before).

After dinner, Christian, Carson and Travis stayed and listened to the DJ while Landon and I went back to the room. He went to bed in Grandma and Grandpa's room while I worked on getting us packed. We had to have our suitcases outside our rooms by 10 that night so that they could be picked up and taken to be picked up off the ship in the morning when we disembarked.
