More December happenings.

We had a Christmas party with a group of our friends. It was a Feliz Navida party with CafĂ© Rio for dinner. It was a fun evening  with white elephant gifts and lots of laughs!
I got a sweet pair of "loaf"ers and a blanket as my gift.
Christian got a couple packs of batteries...toy not included!

Photo booth time! These are a great bunch of ladies that I have so much fun with!

The boys went to an activity at the library one Friday after school and made snow globes. They were pretty cute.

My mom came over and we made Christmas candy together. I love this tradition that we do together..and it's one of the highlights of December for my boys! We delivered 19 plates after school that day (a record to get that many in a day) and 3 the next day!

We FINALLY got a snow storm and it snowed all day. Christian had taken the bigger boys out pheasant hunting, so Landon and I built a pretty cool snow man and played in the snow.

The next day after the snow was Sunday, so I talked all the boys into a family photo shoot. The snow was so pretty (due the wind not blowing)

The Wyoming Cowboys played in the Potato Bowl, so we cheered for them from the warmth and comfort of our living room. Christian was offered free tickets to the game, but decided not to take them due to the winter storm that was supposed to be coming. It would have been a good game to attend because the pokes won!

The Santa letters came out in the newspaper this week and it's always fun to read what the kids say. Here is Landon's letter to Santa.

Christmas Programs

We have spent the last two nights at the Hyart watching Landon and Travis perform their Christmas programs. Monday night was Landon's. Even though the 3rd grade play was the next night, it was still as crazy as ever and I'm glad that Christian was able to get in line early (5:00 and the concert begins at 6...craziness!) to get us a close seat! The Kindergarteners were so cute and sang some fun songs! Landon had a speaking part and did a great job on it! He was pretty nervous about getting up and saying it in front of 400+ people!
All ready to head to his first Christmas program

Tuesday night, was the 3rd grade play. The play was super cute this year and was about Santa getting stuck in the 50's. Travis had the part of swing dancer and totally rocked it. He and his partner were awesome together and had some serious swing dancing skills!

The boys were supposed to dress like the guys from the movie Grease.

Wrestling wrap up!

Carson had his 2017 wrestling tournament this weekend in Thermopolis. He wrestled the best I've seen him wrestle all year and came away with a 4th place finish in the 105 pound division (in one of the largest brackets in the tournament)! It was a long day for him, having to get up at 4:45 and wrestling 5 matches in the tournament, but he did a great job!

First match again a Rocky kid. He's wrestled this kid 3 times and beat him every time. It was a great confidence booster for him to start out with this guy.

Getting ready to get the pin.

His second match was against a kid from Worland. Carson ended up beating him 10-1.

His 3rd match was against a Riverton kid. Carson fought hard but ended up losing 10-2. His fourth match was also against a Riverton kid and Carson beat him 10-2, putting him in the 3rd place match.
Ready to wrestle!
Carson wrestled a kid from Thermop for third place and ended up losing and taking 4th. Christian and I both believe that Carson could have beaten this kid...it was a pretty close match!

Receiving his 4th place ribbon.

Turning 12..

I can't believe this boy is 12! He is growing into quite the young man. Carson is kind, a hard worker, fun, has a great smile and laugh, a good friend, chooses the right, a great helper and a good example to his younger brothers. At 12, Carson:
*loves putting together legos. Star wars legos are his favorite
*reads after he's tucked into bed for 30 minutes so that he can fall asleep
*loves to go hunting
*has LOVED middle school
*is a 6th grade student council representative
*is willing to help anyone out
*is responsible for making his bed, cleaning up his room, emptying garbages, cleaning up dinner, cleaning a bathroom and is willing to do anything else he's asked!
*loves to learn about history
*if there isn't anything going on, he loves to sit on the couch and watch tv
*and so many more things...

On Sunday, December 10th, he was ordained a deacon by Christian. He was fortunate to get to have both of his grandpas be there also. He is one lucky boy to have such great men in his life that are worthy priesthood holders and wonderful examples to him!

Carson turns 12!

Carson turned the big 1-2 yesterday. He's been looking forward to his birthday for quite a while mostly because he's the last one in his church class to turn twelve and has been by himself in primary for 2 months! He started the day with the traditional number pancakes. I also picked him up for birthday lunch. We ate champs chicken at Grandma Dorothy's house. He decided this year, he didn't want to do a big family birthday party, but wanted to go out to dinner as a family at El Tapatio in Powell (his favorite)! We left as soon as he was done with wrestling practice and headed over. Grandpa and Grandma Asay, Grandma Foulger (grandpa was out of town for meetings) and Jason and Cassie met us there for dinner. It was delicious, as always! After dinner, we came home and he finally had a chance to open his gifts. He got a new fishing pole (he's been wanting a new one because his makes noises when you reel it back in) and Wyoming Cowboys shirt from grandpa and grandma Asay, a new pair of work gloves and some money to go on a date with grandma Foulger and go shopping with from grandpa and grandma Foulger, a cool dinosaur dig kit from Jason and Cassie and then some clothes, a new tie for when he gets to pass the sacrament, legos and some shelves for his room. He's been saying for months that he would love some shelves in his room so that he can put the lego sets he builds and wants to keep on them. Because I knew it was going to be kind of a crazy day, we just picked up some cookies for his birthday dessert...lame, but that's how it works some times. It sounded like he had a great day. We are so blessed to have him as part of our family!
Birthday pancakes
A new shirt to wear to school.
Birthday lunch!

Happy birthday!

Checking out the cool dino dig stuff Jason and Cassie gave him. It's a solid piece of cement that he has to pick away at with tools to find the bones. Once he finds the bones than he can assemble them into a dinosaur. He's excited for when wrestling is done so that he has time to work on it and his legos!
