High School Wrestling
Carson has finished his 2nd year on the high school wrestling team. This year, he wrestled most of his matches at 152 pounds and a few at 145 pounds. The 152 weight class was a pretty tough weight bracket this year with some strong competition. Carson went into regionals with a record of 10-23. He ended up losing both of his matches at Regionals which meant he wouldn't be making it to State. He has already set the goal to make it to state next year to compete!
At Regionals, the team ended up taking 4th.
A couple days before regionals, two students at the high school who were siblings were killed in a car accident on their way to school. The high school made these shirts for all the athletes (basketball, track, dance cheer, wrestling) to wear that weekend at their respective competitions.
Carson and his cousin Stetson. These two stuck it out all season together. They were the only two kids on the team to show up to every morning and afternoon practice during the season! Way to work hard, Asay boys!!
Even though Carson didn't make it to state, we still went down and supported the team. We left Thursday after school and drove down. We had a yummy steak dinner at Fire Rock after we got into Casper. We spent all day Friday at the Events Center watching wrestling. There were some great matches. Carson, and the other wrestlers that didn't make it to state to compete but were there watching, were invited to go down with the team for the March of Champions. The March of Champions is such an awesome experience. It's one of my favorite things to watch during State Wrestling! Saturday morning, we made our way towards Worland to watch Travis and his team compete in their basketball tournament. It really made Travis mad that he missed getting to go to State Wrestling because he had to play basketball! He and Landon stayed at home with grandma Foulger while we were gone.
