Lately

The months are flying by! How can it be the middle of February already? Here is some of what we have been up to!

The boys have been enjoying the chances they get to go over to the ice skating rink. Travis and a few of his friends have been several times and always have a blast together!

One of Carson's biggest projects as an 8th grader is the career fair. They spend a lot of time researching, writing papers and presenting on a career of their choice. They set up posters and give presentations to the 6th and 7th graders and any parents that want to attend. Carson choose Orthopedic Surgeon. He had a great presentation and then those that came to listen got to play operation (another requirement is to have a game of some sort) to win tootie frooties.

We FINALLY got some snow! It snowed for two days straight! It came straight down (no wind which never happens) and was so beautiful! Chrstian got home early from work one of the days and after they got the neighbor's walks shoveled, he pulled the boys around on sleds behind the 4-wheeler. Travis was so excited! He's been wanting to do this all winter, but we've never had enough snow to be able to do it!

The two younger boys have been working on their valentine boxes to take to school. Travis's class is having a competition, so he worked extra hard on his in hopes that he will win!

Travis and Landon have been having wrestling practice 3 times a week since December and they finally had their first tournament. Travis had a great tournament and ended up placing 3. He lost a tough match in double over time that would have given him 2nd place (it was a round robin). Landon moved up an age bracket this year, making him one of the younger ones in his weight. He went 0-2 in the tournament, but looked pretty good. He was pretty nervous all day, but hopefully next one he'll be better. Christian isn't help coach this year, and I think the boys miss having him on the mat with them!

Carson is nearing the end of his 8th grade basketball season. He has 2 more games before their conference tournament. They have had an ok year, so far, but he has made so many improvements from last year! He has done great this year!
