2014 Winter Challenge

Ok, this is one of the craziest things I have seen/heard of in a long time, but it was harmless fun! There has been a "challenge" going around amoungst the people of Lovell (and now beyond)on facebook where someone is challenged to take a dip in some frozen water, record it, and then post it on facebook for everyone to see. If they do it, they then get to challenge other people to do it. Carson received a challenge from his good friend Jared Mangus last Thursday night. So, Friday after school was done, we loaded up the car and headed out to find a spot to complete the 2014 Winter Challenge. We were going to just have him do it in the pond behind our house, but that would have required cutting away a bunch of ice in order for him to get in it and that was just too much work. First, we tried to find a spot in the golf course canal but the spot we found was kind of swift and we didn't want to have Carson go down stream. We drove along some country roads to see if there was any water in any of the canals, but no such luck! Christian decided we would go out to his dad's farm and find one of the ponds. We found a spot where there was enough water (and where the cows had been watering, so that tells you how not clean it was) to cover the body. Carson did it like a champ and so did Travis...who begged his brother to challenge him so he could do it. In fact, he was in his swim suit for half the day he was so excited to do it! After they were done, we ran home and each of them took a warm shower so they could warm up and wouldn't be stinky for their wrestling tournament later that evening!
