We just got back from Idaho after spending most of the week at the Savage family reunion. We left Wednesday morning at 6:30 and drove the 12 hours to the campsite. Carson got to go half way on Tuesday with grandma and grandpa Foulger and then the rest of the way on Wednesday with them. The boys had a drawing to see who got to go with them and Carson was the lucky one.

Part of our drive was through Yellowstone. We came to one valley where there were hundreds of buffalo. It was an impressive sight. We rolled down the windows and were able to hear them grunt and snort.
The drive to the campsite was beautiful, but long! We were in forest most of the way and then drove deeper into the forest to the campsite. At the end of our drive, our GPS said we only had 20 miles to go, but that it was going to take an hour. We didn't think there was any way it was going to take us that long! What we didn't know was it was a dirt road with hairpin turns the entire way down the mountain into the campsite. We were just happy that we weren't pulling our camper and had decided to stay in a cabin.

We got to the campground and checked into our cabin. When we opened the door to the cabin it smelled really bad of propane gas! Not impressed! So we went back to the check in place and told them and they came and lit the pilot lights that had gone out and stuck a fan in it for us. Travis was pretty sure we were all going to die in the night because of the gas. Lucky for us, we didn't die! The cabin had two queen beds and a couch that pulled out into a bed, a stove, full sized fridge and our very own outhouse. We were supposed to share the cabin with Jason and Cassie, but after they heard about the gas smell, they bunked with grandma and grandpa Foulger.

After checking in, we went down to the main camping site for the reunion and said hi to those that were there. A lot of them had gone to a musical in town (an hour away), so not very many were there yet.
Thursday morning, the Foulger family had breakfast duty. We were in charge of prepping, cooking and cleaning up breakfast. We cooked sausage, pancakes, eggs and had an oatmeal bar.

Grandpa Foulger cooked the pancakes, Christian cooked the sausage and I cooked the eggs. Landon was a great supervisor!

After breakfast, my cousin Jennie, who owns a laser tag company, was kind enough to bring all of her gear up and let us all use it. They had open play for quite a few hours and then we made teams and had a tournament. The kids LOVED this. I asked each of the boys what their favorite part of the reunion was and they each said the laser tag was the best part!

Jason and the boys playing around. The campground was the perfect place to play. Lots of places to hide in and under!

Landon and his team. He was on a team with my cousin Jay's kids and one of my cousin Diana's grandkids.

Our team for the tournament. We lost our first game by one kill...dang!
|
While the laser tag was going on, there were lots of games being played! Telestrations is always was hit!
The boys took a time out from laser tag to play in the river. It was a perfect spot for the kids. It was shallow, not fast moving and right close! They spend hours down there playing. They worked together with several of my cousin's kids to make a dam so that the water would be a little deeper so people could "soak" in it.

Lunch was hamburgers, hot dogs, shredded chicken sandwiches and lots of sides. For dinner, we had burgers and chicken breasts and sides. After dinner, my cousin Jana's son, led the group in a Family Feud game. It was hilarious and so fun!

Grandma Foulger brought light up rockets to give out to all the kids that night. The kids had a blast with them. It was funny to see how many got stuck in trees. One of the trees looked like it was lit up for Christmas it had so many stuck in it!
